Below you will see a variety of scholarships that are available to graduates of Warrensburg-Latham High School. Alpha Sigma Phi Scholarship
Incoming freshmen males at the University of Illinois-Urbana/Champaign who has displayed outstanding leadership skills in his school and community are eligible. The amount of the award is $1,000. See guidance office for more information.
Alpha Zeta Recruitment Grant
Female high school seniors who rank in the upper forty percent of their graduating
class and who plan on entering the field of education may apply. Applicants
will be evaluated on the following criteria: academic excellence, leadership
qualities, participation in school activities, contribution to the community
and church, recommendation letters, and the student essay. The amount
of the award is $250. Contact guidance office for an application.
Ameren Illinois Minority Scholarship Program
Applicants must be a minority graduating high school senior accepted to an
accredited 2-year or 4 year college or university in the United States. All
scholarship recipients must earn a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.667 on a 4.0
scale or its equivalent. Student must major in an engineering discipline.
The student must be a permanent resident within Ameren Illinois distribution
service area at the time the scholarship is first awarded. The scholarship
recipient is eligible to renew and receive the $2,500 scholarship annually

American Legion Auxiliary, Decatur
Candidates for these scholarships are children or grandchildren of veterans
who served during the eligibility dates for membership of the American Legion.
Awards are $1,000 and $1,500. See guidance office for more information.
American Legion Castle-Williams Post #105 Scholarship
Seniors who plan to enter college as a freshman are eligible. Winners are
selected based on character, Americanism, leadership, scholarship, and basis
of need. Three $1000 scholarships will be awarded. Two will be awarded to
applicants who are a child, grandchild or sibling of a veteran. See guidance

Seniors who have demonstrated hard work inside and outside the classroom
may apply.

CCSCI Charitable Fund Scholarship
The Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois created the CCSCI Charitable
Fund to enhance community-based cancer awareness and education programs throughout
Central Illinois. The CCSCI Charitable Fund Scholarship provides oncology/hematology
education development opportunities to 1) healthcare professionals, including
nurses, radiation therapists, laboratory technicians, and pharmacists, who
provide oncology/hematology-related services in Central Illinois, and 2)
individuals, including students, interested in pursuing oncology/hematology-related
careers.

Central Illinois Chapter of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers
Seniors accepted into an ABET accredited engineering school may apply. There
is no formal application form. Submit your school transcript with national
testing results, a brief resume including interests, activities, and awards,
and a one-page composition describing your interest in engineering. Mail

Coca-Cola Scholars
Seniors with a minimum 3.0 GPA at the end of his/her junior year and not
related to any Coca-Cola employees can apply on-line. Fifty students will
receive $20,000; twenty students will receive $10,000.

Community Scholarship/ Walmart Foundation
Seniors who are not a Wal-Mart or Sam's Club associate or a dependent of
an associate may apply. $1,000.

Daniel Logan Memorial Scholarship
Seniors planning to major in law enforcement or substance abuse prevention
at an Illinois community college or university may apply. Applicant must
have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. See guidance office for more information.
Decatur Area SHRM Chapter Scholarship
Seniors who will be attending a 4-year college or university may apply. Preference
will be given to students planning a concentration in Human Resource Management
or related area and to sons or daughters of a Decatur Area SHRM member. The

Decatur Foundry Scholarship
The purpose of this award is to provide a source of funding for higher education
for qualified individuals who are an immediate family member of Decatur,
Foundry, Inc. employee. The amount of the award is $1,000. As many as five
awards can be given per year.

Seniors who plan to attend the University of Illinois are eligible. Three

Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity
Incoming males to the University of Illinois may apply. Award is $500. See

Eastern Illinois University
Incoming freshmen to Eastern Illinois University who will major in Career
and Technical Education or Industrial Education are eligible to apply.

Florence A. Cook Recruitment Grant/Delta Kappa Gamma Society International
Senior women planning to enter the field of education and study at one of
the participating colleges and universities in Illinois are eligible. Five
grants of $1,000 will be awarded.

Golden Apple: Scholars of Illinois
Juniors and seniors interested in a teaching career can be nominated by a
teacher, counselor, principal, or non-family-member adult. $2,500 per year
for four years paid directly to the partner Illinois University or college

Golden K Kiwanis Club of Decatur Scholarship
The purpose of this fund is to provide financial assistance to students in
the Macon County (Illinois) region attending or planning to attend an accredited
college or university. The amount of the award and number of awards may vary
each year based on the fund’s earnings.

Seniors who major in or desire to pursue the secretarial, office technology,

IAMB Ted Farrell Memorial Scholarships
Scholarship applicants must be seniors with a GPA of a B average or better
and have a parent, grandparent, or sibling in the mortgage industry who must
work for a company that is a member of the Illinois Association of Mortgage
Brokers. Twenty $1000 scholarships will be awarded. For more information

The Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus Foundation Scholarship
The Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus Foundation is pleased to announce that
it will soon grant twenty $2,000 scholarships to deserving full-time college
students who are residents of Illinois and of Latino ancestry.

Illinois Lumber and Material Dealers Association Educational Foundation
Any student who is enrolled full time in a certificate or degree program
in an accredited trade school, 2-year college or 4-year college or university
may apply. Awards not less than $500 and not more than $2000. See guidance

Illinois PTA
Seniors in the upper 25% of their class who are planning to major in education
are eligible. Awards of $500 and $1,000.

Seniors who wish or pursue a career in restaurant/hospitality industries

Residents of Illinois and citizens of the US planning on attending a post
secondary school or accredited vocational/technical school may apply.

Julie A. And Lloyd Lehman Journalism Scholarship
Seniors who have a cumulative GPA of 3.8 or higher and have expressed an
interest in Journalism may apply. Three $2900 scholarships will be awarded.

Junior Achievement
Seniors who have completed or are enrolled in Junior Achievement Economics
or Junior Achievement Company Program may apply.

Kiwanis Club of Decatur
Seniors who will be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate at a college, university
or vocational/tech school and who have a strong desire to achieve, excel,
and pursue higher education. Service to others and the community is also
a requirement. See guidance office for more information.
Macon County 4-H Foundation Scholarships
Members of the Macon County 4-H may apply. Additional scholarships are available
for students planning on pursuing a career in an agricultural related field
of study. Four scholarships ranging from $300 - $5000.
Macon County Farm Bureau
Seniors who are members of the Macon County Farm Bureau and are planning
on pursuing a career in an agricultural related field of study may apply.
Four scholarships ranging from $1000 - $4000. Contact guidance office for

MENSA Education and Research Foundation
Residents within the area of a local MENSA group who will be enrolled in
an institution of post-secondary education are eligible. Awards range from
$300 to $1000

Michael E. Shampine Memorial Scholarship
Established by his union family to honor the memory of Michael E. Shampine,
this fund is designed to provide a scholarship to an affiliated union member,
or an immediate family member, who plans to enroll in continuing education.
The scholarship will assist with enrollment in a degree program, qualified
trades apprenticeship, or vocational school. The ideal recipient will be
recognized as having a desire to succeed by demonstrating strengths in leadership,
community and political awareness. The amount of the award is $500.

Seniors who are planning on pursuing a career in Agriculture are eligible
to apply. $1,500.

Physical/ Occupational Therapy Scholarship Program/Illinois Elks Crippled Children's Corporation
Students currently enrolled in or planning on entering the physical or occupational

Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year (SAMMY) Award Program/America's Milk Processors
Senior scholar athletes will be judged based on academic performance, athletic
excellence, leadership, community service, and milk experience. Award consists
of $7,500 scholarship, invitation to Disney World for a SAMMY weekend, and
an opportunity to be pictured in a Milk Mustache ad.

Supplemental Scholarship Program/Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity
Applicant must be a member of a low income household and be able to provide
proof of income for the last 90 days. Students must have a minimum of a 2.0
GPA. The scholarships awarded will assist with educational costs, but will
not provide for the entire amount needed. Potential recipients must apply
at Decatur-Macon County Opportunities Corporation. 1122 East Marietta Street
in Decatur. Applications may only be submitted through an appointment.
The Illinois Association of County Schools (IACO)
Seniors attending any Illinois four year college or university or any Illinois
community college/vocational or trade school may apply. Awards of $500 and
$1,000. Contact guidance office for an application.
The L. Mark Hanover Memorial Scholarship
The purpose of this award is to provide commendation in the form of a paid
scholarship to an outstanding undergraduate science student who plans to
pursue a science degree at the University of Illinois. The amount of the
award is $1,000.

The Susan Swanson Memorial Scholarship
Susan was a graduate of Argenta-Oreana High School, and Illinois State University
with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education. She was a special education
teacher for 27 years in the Decatur school district, and was voted Brush
College School Teacher of the Year. The purpose of the award is to provide
a scholarship full-time undergraduate student who plans to complete a four
year degree and is a child of a member of the DEA or PBPA Unit 39. The amount
of the award is $1,000.

Warrensburg Lion's Club Scholarship
Scholarship applicants must be seniors with a cumulative GPA through the
seventh semester minimum 4.0 on a 5.0 scale. Applicants must be expecting
to be enrolled in college or university in the fall. Three $750.00 scholarships
will be awarded. All applicants are required to attend a luncheon where they
will undergo a personal interview. See guidance office for more information.
Warrensburg-Latham Education Foundation
Seniors pursing a college or technical school degree or a Health Care related
career are eligible to apply. Awards of $500 and $1,000. See guidance office

"We Understand" Farm Credit Services of Illinois
Seniors who are accepted into an agriculture or agriculture-related curriculum
at a university, college, or community college. Eighteen $750 scholarships

Wendy's High School Heisman Award
Senior student athletes who excel in academics, athletics, and student leadership
can fill out an application and have it reviewed by a high school official.

Westminster Presbyterian Church in Decatur
Any graduating senior from Decatur or Macon County high schools NOT in the
upper 20% of the class rankings is eligible to be considered for an award.
However, special consideration will be given to those who are academically
in the lower 50 percent of the graduating class. See guidance office for
